Service Description

Learn about Indigenous protocols, from the ocean to the mountains over two weekends. The guided Chumash narrative tours will be a two- day workshop split up over 2 weeks. You pick the dates anytime between December 1st through August 1st 2020. Each event is schedule for 4 hrs - during the day. Coastal Maritime Location: Coastal Chumash Village Site: TBA Gaviota Village sites. You will have private coastal access to bluff trails, creek, estuaries, wetlands and the coastline Mountain Valley Location: Chumash “Walk in Clouds” Chumash observation site. Traverse the high chaparral plant and hillside trails that lead into Vista views of our beautiful Channel Islands and put dow the sun with a Chumash farewell song. You will be introduced to Chumash and Indigenous plant gathering protocols that will give you a deeper understanding and a spiritual connection to the land and it’s relations. “All my Relations. • Greeting and introduction to the Ancestors, land, people and the relations who inhabit the area • Native Plant, gathering and usages. • Native Habitat & Ecosystem Relationship • You will learn when (the right season) and how to gather native plants • You will be able to gather and learn how to prepare and use what you have gathered.
